    GOD AND COUNTRY I built this model for a pinewood derby event a while back. It was a fundraiser for the AIGA in San Francisco, who provided me with the official kit and asked me to design and assemble it. As a kid I participated in several of these races. I tried to build aerodynamic cars, complete with spoilers, weights, and graphite powder to reduce the friction, but in the end I just wanted to take home the ribbon for best paint-job. This mixed media sculpture was built using wood (pine and more), plastic, canvas, one Dungeons and Dragons miniature, paint, glue, and astro-turf.
